Building Inclusive Voice Spaces (Through a Neurodiversity-Affirming Lens) focuses on creating inclusive voice spaces through a neurodiversity-affirming lens by promoting student-led learning and providing voice pros with tools and frameworks to use in their studios and other voice spaces.

The traditional concept of “safe spaces” is challenged, advocating instead for “inclusive spaces” that respect individuals’ privacy and affirm their way of being without requiring disclosure of personal details. The importance of inclusive physical spaces is emphasized, addressing barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals, in particular, and suggesting various sensory tools and supports that voice pros may incorporate into their teaching to build more inclusivity into all facets of the voice space.

This approach prioritizes student agency, self-assessment, and personalized learning, aiming to create an environment where all students, especially neurodivergent ones, can fully participate and thrive.
